This course provides coverage of aspects modern computing, depending on the major chosen. It covers fundamental programming and theoretical knowledge followed by an opportunity to specialise in one of the three key computing areas: Computer Science, Cyber Security and Software Engineering. Curtin's Computing course teaches C and Java in the first year as the tools for learning core concepts such as object orientation and algorithms. Linux skills are taught throughout the course and emphasis is placed on learning the basics before moving onto advanced topics. Graduates from the course will have a high level of knowledge of computer systems and processes involved in software development and maintenance.
